Hi frank (easyroommate). I was recommended 3 sites to find a lodger & this was one of them. I used this site first & quickly found out how quick & easy it was to use & very cheap to upgrade. My latest lodger was my second from this site but on both occasions i have had plenty of interested people in my ad. I recommend this site to everyone who is looking to share accomodation whether it be as a landlord or as a lodger. I promise you won't be disappointed. Keep up the good work frank & thankyou....ADY

I used this site about 7 years ago and found 2 fantasic tenants. I was very surprised as the 2 chaps were very professional and was the perfect tenants.(given the name easy room mate I really thought I would never find a suitable professional)

I am about to place my apartment with easy room mate again and I hope that I will have the same result as I did back then.

Still going strong - that means good service!

hate to be the bearer of bad news but our amazing government will soon be passing a new law involving shared homes. or HOUSES in MULTIPLE OCCUPATION as they are legally called. that’s unrelated people sharing one house or flat.
under this proposed law, unless people get together and fight it,such properties will need planning permission every time someone wants to share. which could take at least 8 weeks to be granted.
so 4 friend decide to rent a house.
because they are not related the landlord will have to apply for planning consent. at a cost of around £500 ( to the tenants ) wait 8 weeks and IF it is granted the 4 friends will have a place to live. IF refused the prospective tenants loose the £500 and nowhere to live. could be students. could be friends. could even be a couple not married. as long as they are unrelated. also as HMOs the rates will go up. an extra charge to tenants. you could, of course, write to your MP and INSIST HE/SHE SCRAPS THIS IDEA.

Hello,

That's unbelievable..
I am looking for a room in Sydney. I have subscribed to the website two days ago. and she sent an e-mail in minutes. attached pictures and the renting price was very good. so, I was about to make a contract with this fake person, he/she has sent the same documents (passport, driver licence, and certificate of ownership) to me few minutes ago.
This trick was a little bit obvious too. Because my very specific kind of questions have not been answered, such as the level of that unit or the unit number just to see it from outside. and between 2 previous e-mails I found a few inconsistent sentences. but e-mails were still very convincing, before searching that name on the web.

Thank you very much for declaring this name on this blog and saving my time and money.

Regards,

Hi All,

I am based in London, UK and recently fell for a scam in student housing in Sydney. My daughter is joining a university in sydney for a masters programme, and she doesn't know anyone there.

Along with a friend she met on Facebook, who is also going to Sydney for further studies, they both found a room owned by an American Lady by the name of Kathleen McHugh. She asked for deposit and 2 months rent in advance from both the girls and the money was to be transferred via Moneygram/W.Union to her Lawyer in USA. Having transferred the funds, it was, subsequently, realised that she did not send the promised documents from Lawyer and the signed Tenancy Agreement, which both the girls has signed at the time of sending money.

So, I would like to caution all prospective students that do not fall for this trap. There is a lot of scam going on, not only in Australia, but also in the UK about student housing.

BEWARE! and do not let these cyber thugs win.
